Five ways to Help your Child Eat Healthy Foods

Use these tips to help your child get the most out of their meals,

  1. Variety is the spice of Life! Offer lots of different food options and choices at meals and snack time. Include different textures flavours and colours.
  2. Make it interesting. Include your children in meal preparations and shopping when ever you can. Play guessing games, get their feedback and make it fun. Experiment with different flavoured sauces and dips.
  3. Keep it simple. Keep the portions small, especially when introducing new foods. Let them ask for more of the things that they like!
  4. Be consistent. Offer new foods on a regular basis. Offer new ways to retry things they weren’t sure of. Our tastes change as we grow, so its important to keep trying foods even if they didn’t like them the first time.
  5. Be a good role model. Don’t have junk food around. Have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables available. Show your love for healthy food choices.
